I am so excited to share Kennedy's nursery with y'all! It was a labor of love for both Fielding and myself, and now it is literally my favorite room in the house...I mean, can ya blame me?? Seeing it complete makes me want to cry happy tears {pregnancy hormones??} and I can't wait to spend time with Kennedy in there when she finally arrives!
The room is VERY small, so before we even knew the sex of the baby, I knew I wanted it to be simple and clean. We decided to go with a neutral white and gray theme, then depending on the sex, we would add gender specific touches with the decor. The room was already painted the same light gray as the rest of our house {Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams}, so we left that as-is.
When I started looking for a white crib and dresser, I immediately fell in love with the Jenny Lind line from Crate & Kids. I loved it so much that we actually purchased it prior to knowing if we were having a boy or girl! This heirloom style furniture with the precious spindle design is classic and will last for years to come.
Once we found out we were having a baby girl, I started looking for the feminine touches to add to our white and gray decor. I came across this gorgeous floral canopy on Etsy and knew it was the perfect focal point of the nursery.
From there I ordered this beautiful My Texas House rug from Wayfair, adorable chandelier from Pottery Barn Teen, and gorgeous ruffle curtains from Kohl's. Pro Tip: since the room is so small, we hung the curtains as close to the ceiling as possible which helps the room appear bigger!
As I mentioned earlier, the room is tiny so I knew I wouldn't have room for the typical glider with an ottoman. I went on the hunt for small gliders - which is no easy task! Randomly, while we were shopping at Crate & Barrel one day, Fielding wandered off {per usual} and when I found him, he was lounging in a recliner. He thought it would be PERFECT for the nursery and my first instinct was - absolutely not, her nursery is not a man cave. He convinced me to sit in it and my mind was changed immediately. It's actually a recliner / glider combo by Babyletto made specifically for nurseries. Not only was it extremely comfortable, but it was actually small enough to fit in our nursery {hallelujah!}. Added bonus - it has a USB port on the inside to charge your devices while rocking / nursing.
Lastly, I picked out the crib sheets, bedskirt, and changing pad cover from Pottery Barn Kids to go along with the floral theme and found the lamp, frames, side table, and most of the decor items from Target {shocker, right?!}.
The most special finishing touch in the nursery is this quilt hand sewn by my uber talented mother-in-law. I know it is something that Kennedy will cherish forever.
I had so much fun designing Kennedy's feminine & floral nursery, and I am thrilled with how it turned out. I can only hope that she loves it as much as I do! You can shop most of the items from Kennedy's nursery below.
