Maternity Session in Piedmont Park + Baby A's Name Reveal

Y'all, Paige Molina Photography knocked it out of the park {Piedmont Park, to be exact} with our maternity session.  We received our photos this week and to say I'm in love with how they turned out is an understatement!  I will truly cherish these photos forever.

We took our photos in Atlanta's iconic Piedmont Park.  There are so many beautiful backdrops around the park and I love how you get both nature and the skyline all in the same shot!  Our session ended with an impromptu slow dance in the park, and I'm obsessed with how Paige captured that special moment.

I wanted our maternity session to have a more formal vibe for several reasons.  #1: I love any excuse to buy a fancy dress and get all glammed up.  #2: The last time we took formal photos was over 5 years ago at our wedding.  #3: Our session was right before the holidays, so sequins seemed like the only logical option.  #4: Fielding is SO HANDSOME in a suit...which leads me to a funny story {although it was not funny at the time}.

I wanted Fielding to wear his navy suit - he wore navy at our wedding and this particular suit looks so good on him.  In preparation for our photos, he took it to the dry cleaners the week prior and picked it up the Friday before our pictures on the following Sunday.  As he was getting dressed in our closet on Sunday, he yells out "Brooke - the dry cleaners gave me the wrong pants!"  Fielding likes to joke about things like this all the time, so I was certain he was just kidding.  Plus, in all the 6+ years we've been going to this dry cleaner, this has NEVER happened.  So I walk into the closet fully expecting him to be dressed in his navy suit and ready to say "just kidding!"...but what I found was a very frantic look on his face as he was holding up a pair of gray pants that did not even remotely match his navy suit jacket.  At this point, it was about 20 minutes before we were to leave the house for the session AND the dry cleaner is closed on Sundays.  So, we had no choice but to improvise...but I must say that Fielding looked very dapper in his gray sport coat and navy dress pants.  This minor mishap taught us 2 lessons - always check your dry cleaning when you pick it up and many times, things don't go according to plan {I know this one will be important as parents}.

I wore this gorgeous blush, sequin and tulle gown from ASOS for our session.  It comes in both maternity and non-maternity and has a long sleeved and full sequined option.  I know you can't see them in these photos, but my shoes are the BEST Valentino dupes for under $50 and they're extremely comfortable.  We probably walked a mile around the park during this session and my feet did not hurt at all!

This look would also be a great option for a formal holiday affair or wedding, whether you're expecting or not!

Now for the moment you've all been waiting for {lol, not really, but I have been asked the question several times}.  Baby A's name is....Kennedy Augusta Alderman.  Fielding and I both just love the name Kennedy and Augusta is his late grandmother's middle name, whom we love and miss dearly.  She was the sweetest southern woman, who loved her family unconditionally, and ALWAYS asked Fielding and I when we were going to have a family of our own.  As soon as we found out we were having a girl, we knew we wanted to honor her in the baby's name.  I know she's looking down on us and is so proud that we are finally starting our family and thrilled that we are passing on her beautiful middle name to our daughter.

Kennedy Augusta - we can't wait to meet you!!
