Spring Trends That I Love

Denim Jacket - Dress - Neckerchief - Espadrilles - Earrings

Happy Monday, y'all! We had the most beautiful, sunny, 60 degree weather in Atlanta over the weekend and it was giving me all the spring feels.  My husband, Fielding, and I grilled out on our back deck and took our dogs {Lilly & Sammie} for a run.  I enjoy being outside as much as possible when the weather is so nice.

Spring is my FAVORITE season for 2 reasons: 1)  I love the weather - it's perfect running weather, patio weather, dog park weather, and flower weather.  2) I love spring fashion - pastels and floral prints make me so happy!

The taste of spring inspired me to put my over-sized sweaters and leather leggings away and pull out my white jeans, floral dresses, and sandals.  Today, I want to share my favorite Spring 2018 trends that I've tried thus far.

1.  Neckerchiefs

You might be wondering - "what the heck is a neckerchief?"  It's just a square scarf meant to be tied around your neck and they have made a huge resurgence from the 70's!  I love how this floral neckerchief (currently on sale for $5!) spices up my look and makes mixing patterns look effortless.  If you don't think you can pull off a neckerchief, try tying one around the straps of a neutral bag to add a pop of color or even tie it in your hair for a cute pool-side head band.

2.  Overalls

I know the overall trend is not for everyone, but I think it's absolutely adorable.  My favorite way to style them is with a tee, baseball cap, and slip on sneakers.  It's the perfect casual, weekend look.  When I wear them, it takes me straight back to the 90's, listening to NSYNC, and chatting with my friends on AIM.  Those were the good ole days!

4.  Circle, Straw & Bamboo Bags

I have been obsessed with hand bags since I was a little girl, so I couldn't pick just one handbag trend for Spring 2018.  I love the unique shape of circle bags.  You may have seen my grey circle bag from my previous post - I have been carrying it almost every day and have received so many compliments!  Straw bags are the perfect spring and summer accessory and can double as a beach bag.  Bamboo bags, like this one, are so versatile and unique - I think of them as a conversation piece.  It's the perfect bag to take place of your clutch this spring and summer.

5.  Gingham

Being from the South, I have been wearing gingham since the day I was born.  I am LOVING that it is so popular this season.  It comes in everything from swimsuits, shoes, pants, and even home decor. Gimme ALL the gingham!

3.  Espadrilles

I am seeing espadrilles everywhere this spring and I don't hate it.  There are so many different styles to choose from - flats, wedges, neutrals, and printed.  I bought this pair last year and they are probably my most worn spring/summer shoe in my closet.

6. Statement Earrings

I might have a slight obsession with statement earrings, especially tassel earrings.  Statement earrings are my favorite way to add a pop of color to a simple outfit.  They come in an abundance of colors, shapes, and sizes - your options are endless when it comes to statement earrings!

  2. Good for you Brooke! I’m afraid the espadrilles don’t work for me in Paris. SO much walking, SO much dirt and grime on the streets. They get totally trashed.
